Call for Interest Sessions

The Utah Chapter of the American Choral Directors Association (ACDA-UT) welcomes submissions for interest sessions for our fall conference, which will take place on September 26-27, 2025 at Viewmont High School (120 W 1000 N, Bountiful, UT 84010). We encourage submissions that address the conference theme Sing for Life, the diversity of our membership, and that actively engage participants. All topics will receive consideration and will be evaluated for scholarly content, variety, innovation, value, pedagogical strength, and relativity to current trends in the choral profession. All applications must be submitted online by June 1, 2025.

ELIGIBILITY:
All first authors must be current members of ACDA to submit a proposal. If selected, all presenters must be current members and register for the conference.

GUIDELINES:
Topics should assist school, worship, and community choral conductors in refining their craft and supporting their various programs. Information you will need to submit will include the following:

Contact information including name, email, phone, address, and name of school/institution.
Title and description of your proposal. Ensure these are edited and ready to appear in the conference program if selected. The description should not exceed 100 words.
Your session target audience/area of interest.
If commercially published materials will be distributed.
If a demonstration choir will be a part of your session.
Equipment needs. Every room will have a projector, screen for audio and video, and a piano. All other equipment requests must be listed on your proposal.
Presenter headshot(s) and bio(s) to appear in marketing materials and the conference program.
ACDA membership number and expiration date.

TIMELINE:
June 1, 2025: Application must be submitted by 11:59 pm Mountain Time.
First week of June 2023: screening by Evaluation Committee
By June 15, 2023: Results emailed to applicants.
